Head of State Chancellery Dirk Schrödter visits sonoware GmbH
Last Friday, head of state chancellery Dirk Schrödter visited sonoware GmbH to formally deliver funding approval of the GhostNetBusters project and to learn about the early project findings. Together with our partners from GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, One Earth - One Ocean e.V., and the SDA (Scientific Diving Association), we were able to provide insights into the current state of the project as well as initial success stories of joint expeditions to Denmark and throughout the Kiel Fjord.
Our colleague Finn Spitz and managing director Christian Lüke, as well as GEOMAR researcher Mia Schumacher, presented technical insights on both preliminary research, current challenges experienced throughout the expeditions, and how signal processing can help machine-learning algorithms detect objects even with only slight indications visible.
The visit was accompanied by media representatives with press releases being available at the following links.
